This lighthouse sits on a small islet at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus Strait, just 220 yards from the coast of Uskudar. Popular with boaters and romantics, Maiden’s Tower offers amazing views of Istanbul and a great Turkish legend: An emperor built the tower to protect his daughter (the maiden) from a nasty prophesy involving snakes until her 18th birthday.
