The Green Mountains Wild Horses

Danby, Vermont

In Massachusetts, they are known as the Berkshires. In Quebec, they are called Monts Sutton. But in Vermont, they are simply called the Green Mountains. They extend illustriously over 250 miles, perforated by the occasional ski resort and the hiking trail that overlaps the Appalachian Trail, but the real charm is their isolated beauty. Here, Jeff Folger captures wild horses grazing on fields by Route 7, the spectacular fall colors serving as the ultimate frame.
