1. Crayola Factory Tour
Location: Easton, Pennsylvania
What's Cool: The ChalkWalk, Color Carousel, giant glass wall and other art activities
-----------------------------------------
What child has not gone through boxes of crayons, fighting for the sharpest cornflower blue and lamenting when the wilted wrapper falls off? At Crayola, visitors walk through the manufacturing floor where they learn the process of making crayons and markers. The Hall of Fame showcases memorabilia, including those crayon colors that have been retired for good. The strongest part of the tour is the variety of arts and crafts available, giving kids and adults the opportunity to try out new products, complete craft activities to bring home, and experience exhibits like the Crayola Color Garden or the Color Carousel. At the Crayola Factory, kids are able to draw on the walls and make clay sculptures without a nervous parent hovering in the background. The tour is realistic and keeps the attention of even the youngest visitors.
