Evel Knievel Daze
This relatively new event honors American motorcycle legend Evel Knievel in his hometown of Butte, Mont. Evel was born and raised in this mining town located in the midst of big sky country, and even worked the mines as a boy. The town decided to honor their most famous son with an annual party and have timed the event to attract riders on their way to Sturgis.
Evel will be on hand all week. He'll lead a ride around the "Evel Knieval Loop" and host a dinner at the historic Finlen Hotel in downtown Butte. A tribute to Evel would not be complete without stunts, so riders should look for the Spanky Spangler Car Jump Spectacular to get their fill of thrills.
Participants can also look forward to the Antique Airplane Fly-in, the Car & Bike Show & Shine, freestyle motorcycle jumping, stunt jumping and Family Fun Day.
Of course, Butte is surrounded by glorious mountain ranges and sits halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. A stop at Evel Knieval Daze is a great way to top off a tour through this natural wonderland.
