Top Dino: Dueling dinosaurs - T-Rex and Triceratops
-----------------------------------------
The main attraction of the dinosaur exhibit at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is a powerful reconstruction of two dueling dinosaurs. Recreated from a combination of real and cast bones, a towering Tyrannosaurus is shown about to devour a fleeing Triceratops. The same scene, cast in full-sized bronze, appears outside the museum. Other prize fossils in the museum's collection include an example of a Mamenchisauru, the longest-necked dinosaur ever discovered, as well as full Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops skulls. While in Los Angeles, any dinosaur lover should schedule a visit to the George C. Page Museum to view its treasure trove of fossils from the La Brea Tar Pits. Over three million plant and animal fossils have been discovered trapped in the muck of these tar pits.
