While diving with sharks in any setting is not for the faint of heart, this might be a good way for beginners to get their feet wet. Singapore Underwater World offers one of the few opportunities to swim with sharks without requiring certification by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) or even a trip out to sea. A 30-minute glimpse into how sharks live takes place in a very large fish tank. Staff members supply the necessary equipment and a guide takes guests into the tanks to swim with sharks, rays and fish. As an added bonus, parents can drop the kids (over 12) into the tank and enjoy a first-class dinner in the tunnels underneath the aquarium while watching their children play with the sharks.
