The thing they called "grunge" started in this town and spread across the world like a flannel shirt. If your musical memory is sound, you will recall that grunge was a huge phenomenon and continues to influence newer bands today. Groups like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees and others started out by making the walls shiver at the Crocodile. The Crocodile continues to host young hopefuls almost every night.
