Here’s why: In just one sample week across America, your flying friends attempted to board planes with the following objects:

• Cannonballs
• A grenade launcher
• “Fantasy” knives (weapons made famous in movies, TV or video games)
• Hand grenades
• 23 guns (14 loaded)
• A ninja star
• Nunchucks
• Throwing knives
• A Kukri knife
• And many, many other sharp objects that regulations and common sense prohibit

For some insight into the minds of these folks -- who know they can’t bring an over-sized bottle of shampoo, but feel the need to stow a weapon – we’ll quote a man who was asked why he brought a knife on his vacation. His explanation was simple: There are "no good knives in Cancun."
