We wonder how often this has happened to women and girls who don’t have congressman uncles to express their righteous indignation.
A Freedom of Information Act request has brought this story to light just recently: The 17-year-old niece of Texas congressman Ralph Hall was traveling with her Christian youth group when she was pulled aside for a secondary screening.
According to the report, the girl’s “loose-fitting strapless sundress” slipped down to her stomach during the pat-down by a female officer, “revealing her breasts.”
This took place in full public view, right the middle of the terminal.
And despite concerns expressed by at least 2 members of congress and one senator, the TSA insists no disciplinary action is called for. In fact, TSA blames the incident on “the loose-fitting, full-length strapless sundress.”
