Armed Soldier Asked to Surrender Nail Clippers
Indianapolis International Airport
Several people swear to this story. We really, really want it to be true. You be the judge.
It seems that a group of 233 US soldiers returning home from Afghanistan had a stopover in Indianapolis.
Although they had been cleared of all live ammunition, they were all heavily armed with assault rifles, M4 Carbines, M9 pistols and M-240B machine guns.
Despite several previous military clearances, the TSA wanted to be absolutely sure the soldiers weren’t sneaking anything into the country, so they insisted on one more inspection.
One soldier emptied his pockets to reveal a nail clipper. He was told he had to hand it over, so he asked why.
TSA said, “Because it could be used as a weapon.”
The soldier pointed out that the rifle he was holding in his hand actually was a weapon.
A few profanity-laced sentences later, the clippers were given to the inspector and the returning soldiers were on their way.
