Villisca Ax Murder House

Villisca, Iowa

Who brutally murdered 8 people while they were asleep in their beds on June 10, 1912 in Villisca, IA? We’ll probably never know. By now, the murderer has taken their gruesome secret to the grave. What we know is this: Shortly after midnight, an intruder entered the house of Josiah and Sarah Moore, and then bludgeoned them --along with their 4 children and 2 of their children’s friends -- to death with an axe. No one was ever convicted of the crime, and many are convinced that the house is now haunted. Want to see for yourself? Just take a tour.
