Postcard From Presidential Debate at Lynn University
Boca Raton, Florida
I got into journalism because: I love news and it’s in my blood.
I went here to: Cover the third and final Presidential debate with NBC News.
The best way to travel here is: Plane-to-shuttle-to-golf cart. (It wouldn’t be a trip to Florida without at least one golf cart ride).
I stayed at: Marriott Boca Town Center. Great tacos and margaritas back in the courtyard and one of the more comfortable beds I’ve ever taken a nap in.
When it comes to packing, be sure to bring: Comfy shoes and deodorant, for obvious reasons.
The best thing I ate was: A stir-fry creation presented in a pineapple that Budweiser provided to entire press corps covering the debate. There were a lot of pineapples …
I wish I hadn't: Slept so little.
Don't miss: Catching some cosmic rays.
Next time I will definitely: See the ocean, not from the window of a plane, but in my bathing suit.
My favorite part of the experience was: Capping off a crazy debate schedule!
My advice would be: Take a day to yourself, if at all possible. If you travel for work without play, you might as well stay in your office.
The debate in Boca was different from the other debates I attended because: There was a real excitement amongst press corps about the fact that it was the FINAL debate … the home stretch to the election!
