New Orleans, LA

Vanessa Mack is a photo editor at Travel Channel in Washington D.C. She was in New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend, where she attended the 20th annual New Orleans Food & Wine Experience festival.

I went here to: Try dishes from NOLA's best chefs and enjoy the selection of wine!

The best way to travel here is: Walk through the streets of the French Quarter or take the nearby trolley.

I stayed at: The Dauphine Orleans Hotel.

When it comes to packing: Sundresses and sandals are a must for ladies. Men, you can never go wrong with seersucker attire in the South!

The best thing I ate was: Crème brûlée donuts!!

I wish I hadn't: Arrived so late in the afternoon, there wasn't enough time to try everything!

Don't miss: Live music and cooking demonstrations.

Next time I will definitely: Try a food sampling from every vendor.

My favorite part of the trip was: Eating authentic N'awlins seafood.

My advice would be: Enjoy the food, music and people!
