Four Season Resort of Jimbaran Bay, Bali
If you want to experience the best of Four Seasons, then you must go to its Bali location. It’s the perfect balance of beach, relaxation, peace and quiet, and fine dining. It has a great collection of pools and beachfront lounging, so you can choose between fresh and saltwater. The walk along Jimbaran Bay is perfect at sunset, because it feels secluded and exclusive. For those who want a real treat, the private villas are well appointed and luxurious.
InterContinental of Sydney
This hotel is perfectly located to enjoy a Sydney adventure: it is just a few minutes’ walk from the opera house, and it has great views of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. The Club Lounge is one of the best in the world, with great food and beverage, amazing views and personalized service that makes you feel more like cherished family than an infrequent guest.
Matakauri Lodge of Queenstown, New Zealand
Breathtaking water views greet you each morning as you savor the best food New Zealand affords. Matakauri gets it: it outshines most others with its stellar wines, amenities and staff. Close to many golfing, hiking and scenic adventures, this lodge is a treat for adventurous people who want to soak in the landscapes. Matakauri is truly a world-class experience that has been designed for travelers who want to unwind and unplug.
Mr. C of Beverly Hills, California
This hotel has classic and contemporary Italian designs, which are distinctive and memorable: I always feel as if I’m going home when I enter Mr. C. While I was working as a consultant, my team had a lot of fun reimagining this Beverly Hills legend. Guests are offered a famous Bellini upon arrival, and they have access to all of the great Cipriani dishes made famous in Venice, Italy. Mr. C’s rooms are luxurious and comfortable, without being fussy.
Nobu Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada
This hotel is a destination within a destination. Located in Caesars Palace, Nobu offers a great array of comfort, luxury and amenities. What really makes this one of our favorites in our hometown is the room service, which comes from chef Nobu. Our favorite restaurant in the city is Nobu, but you can’t get its incredible rock shrimp sliders unless you order them from Nobu Hotel’s room service menu. We love to have stay-cations at Nobu Hotel, because we can order rock shrimp sliders and the best fries in the city for brunch at 11 a.m.
Post Ranch Inn of Big Sur, California
Post Ranch Inn is my favorite destination on the Californian coast. Guests choose between amazing ocean-view rooms and tree houses, which are unlike anything I’ve seen before. This is a perfect treat for an overnight stay or a relaxing time-out, because its spa is unique and indulgent.
Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island, Australia
Southern Ocean Lodge is a luxury option along the coast in Australia. The setting is spectacular, the rooms and amenities are luxurious, and the food and beverage choices are outstanding. This place affords the opportunity to get friendly with kangaroos and other Australian wildlife, which families love to experience. Hikers enjoy climbing among some of the most dramatic topography in the world, which photographers enjoy as well.
St. Regis of New York City
St. Regis is one of my favorite destinations in New York City. It has a convenient address, excellent service and perfect amenities. The King Cole Bar is one-of-a-kind and cannot be missed! My wife and I choose the St. Regis when we travel to New York because the employees remember who we are and our preferences, right down to our preferred music for turndown service.
Schlosshotel Buehlerhoehe of Baden-Baden, Germany
This is a majestic castle in the middle of the Black Forest. Because my wife is German, this is one of our favorite destinations for family trips, hiking and horseback riding in Europe. The Terrace Restaurant has the best views in Baden-Baden, and some spectacular Bavarian food, too. This is a classic German experience with a magnificent backdrop, which I always recommend to travelers headed to Western Europe.
