We sought out travel experts who have circled the globe to determine Travel’s Best Wonders of the World. Meet our panel of advisors: Josh Gates, host of Travel Channel’s Expedition Unknown; Matt Long, founder of the award-winning site LandLopers.com; and hard-core adventurer Julia Dimon.
Josh Gates, Host of Expedition Unknown
Having traveled to more than 90 countries, Josh Gates is an adventurer and avid explorer with a unique brand of humor and a deep-rooted passion for off-the-map excursions that take him in search of the world’s most enduring legends. Josh previously served as host and co-executive producer of the Syfy Channel series Destination Truth and as host of Syfy’s Ghost Hunters Live. He has appeared on the Today show, CNN and a variety of other national television and radio programs. His travels are chronicled in his best-selling book, Destination Truth: Memoirs of a Monster Hunter (2011).
Julia Dimon, Travel Journalist and TV personality
Julia Dimon is a hard-core adventurer who has traveled around the world, across all 7 continents and to more than 80 countries. She is the founder of TravelJunkieJulia.com and author of a new book called Travel Junkie: A Badass Guide to Travel, which features tried-and-true travel tips for the badass adventurer.
Julia is the co-host of Word Travels, a 40-episode TV series about the real lives of travel writers. It is broadcast on National Geographic Adventure and Travel Channel UK in more than 100 countries and 21 languages. Julia has been featured as a travel expert on TV and in numerous publications, including Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Forbes Travel, Budget Travel, Outside Magazine and the Chicago Tribune.
