Josh Gates and his camera man stop for a moment to take in the breathtaking view from the summit of the Nepalese Sky Caves.

The 43 one-hour episodes show some of Josh’s earliest investigations into fascinating mysteries around the world — including the first overnight filming in King Tut’s tomb and at the radioactive ruins of Chernobyl, as well as the first-ever night exploration of the world’s largest religious structure at Angkor Wat.

“It's a quest to investigate eyewitness accounts of unexplained encounters around the world," Josh said.

Not familiar with the show? If you’re a fan of Expedition Unknown, this will be right up your alley.

“These are some of my most unusual, thrilling, weird, and often hilarious travel adventures,” said Gates. “It's all about real investigations of fascinating mysteries – from sightings of cryptozoological creatures to otherworldly phenomena, we point our compass toward the unexplained. It's a wild ride, and the truth, as they say, is out there."

Josh Gates’ Destination Truth premieres on Travel Channel on May 19 at 9|8c with an episode that takes Josh to Indonesia in search of the elusive creature known as the orang pendek.
