Every year in September a frightening fever sweeps the nation from the biggest cities to Midwestern small towns. Thousands of horror attractions open and thousands line up and pay good money to experience crazy characters, cool special effects and sheer terror up close and personal in live performance haunted house attractions. Some destinations have become a draw for more than just the locals.
