Extreme Parking travels to San Francisco to explore a new system that helps find a parking spot in a matter of seconds. It's designed to help residents and visitors find a place to park quickly in the always, congested downtown area. The program is available as a free app on smart phones. Sensors are buried in the asphalt and when a space becomes available the app directs you to the closest parking spot.In Miami Beach we explore a parking structure, that's evolved into a parking sculpture. This state of the art facility is literally a work of art!
It features high-end shops, fine dining and the most fabulous views of Miami Beach.
And we take a look into the crystal ball of parking. In the future we will have driverless cars that drop you off and pick you up when you call them on your smartphone. We'll show you apartment complexes that squeeze like accordions during the day to double as parking lots while you're at work. And forget about losing your car in a giant parking lot. Your key remote will soon be able to signal your car to shoot a hologram in the air to help you find it.
