The story behind the Island of the Dolls (Isla de las Muñecas) is tragic. Don Julian Santana supposedly found a little girl who had drowned on the island, and next to her was a doll (perhaps the girl’s doll, but nobody knows). After some time, Don Julian reportedly became possessed by the dolls and continued to place more and more throughout the island. After several years, Don Julian was found dead in the same spot he reportedly found the girl. 960 1280
