Three Virginia barbecue teams face off with their rigs to prove they have the best grilling chops in the state. The kicker here is the teams judge each other to see who has the baddest rig, the tastiest food, and throws the best backyard barbecue.
Each team cooks two meats and two side dishes, but everyone must use...tri-tip! This is a special cut from the sirloin that's very popular in California, but you won't find many Virginians with experience cooking it.
Flavor Savor BBQ is up first and these country boys are out to prove they can cook barbecue better than any city slicker. Next up is Grand Slam BBQ, with their commercial-grade smoker that could give them an edge over the competition. Last up is Big Mook's BBQ lead by Brian Varani. This former accountant built his rig with his brother. Now he's taken the leap to work fulltime on his BBQ.
With only six hours to cook, these three teams and their monster grills will battle high flames, the clock, and each other for the chance to win $10,000 and The Grill of Victory.
