Andrew Zimmern is a four-time James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, writer, teacher, culinary explorer, social justice advocate, and is regarded as one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world. He is the creator, host and co-executive producer of Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations and The Zimmern List. In Bizarre Foods, Zimmern is on a global quest to explore and explain cultures using unique foods as a lens to view our world. It's all about discovering and sharing the authentic experience. In “Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations,” Zimmern continues his search – taking viewers on an international journey to iconic cities for a taste of their quintessential, not-to-be missed dishes. In his newest series, The Zimmern List, premiering in 2018, Zimmern recounts personal food memories and culinary history, taking viewers on a personal tour of what makes that particular city so irresistible and intriguing to him.

In 2017, Zimmern was awarded his fourth James Beard Award for "Outstanding Personality/Host." He received his first award in 2010 for "Television Food Personality"; his second in 2012 for "Television Program on Location"; and his third in 2013 for "Outstanding Personality/Host." Bizarre Foods also took home two CableFax awards in 2009, one for "Best Television Program: Food," and another for "Best Online Extras" for his Travel Channel web series, Bizarre Foods in the Kitchen.

When Super Bowl LII came to Minneapolis in 2018, Zimmern was named the official culinary ambassador for Super Bowl LII by the NFL. Moreover, Zimmern was named one of the “30 Most Influential People in Food” by Adweek, one of Fast Company’s “Most Creative People in Business,” and one of “America’s 50 Most Powerful People in Food” by The Daily Meal in 2016.

In addition to Zimmern’s accolades, he is the author of three books, and is a contributing editor at Food & Wine Magazine and Delta Sky Magazine. As a freelance journalist, his work has appeared in numerous national and international publications. Zimmern is the founder of the multi-media content production company, Food Works, as well as Intuitive Content, a full-service production company that develops and produces dynamic original content, and Passport Hospitality, a restaurant and food retail development company. Their first project is the Andrew Zimmern’s Canteen brand that serves food in three sports stadiums around the country.

He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minn., with his wife and son.
