Breckenridge, CO, prides itself on being home to the perfect mountain and the perfect mountain town. A long weekend in this Rocky Mountain city is enough time to ski 2 top-rated resorts, drink some of the best locally brewed beer in the U.S. and hike the spectacular Red Rocks Park.

Where to Stay
Grand Timber Lodge
Grand Timber Lodge is tucked between Breckenridge's pristine peaks 8 and 9. This 5-star lodge offers endless luxurious amenities, but for skiers and snowboarders, the most important is direct mountainside ski-in/ski-out access from your room. Accommodations range from small studios to 3-bedroom condos perfect for families or group trips. For those who've spent a day on the slopes, nothing's more comforting than soaking in hot water -- and there are 2 indoor/outdoor heated swimming pools, 2 indoor hot tubs and 4 outdoor hot tubs.

The Tannhauser Lodgings
If you're looking to set up a home away from home, consider renting your own condo. The Tannhauser Lodgings, located on Breckenridge's bustling main street is the ideal place to stay. With fantastic views, an ample kitchen and a cozy fireplace to dry your boots and mittens, Tannhauser provides unique downtown lodging with 37 one- to 2-bedroom units.

Breckenridge Mountain Lodge
The rustic log cabin exterior of Breckenridge Mountain Lodge combined with beautiful Rocky Mountain views makes it the perfect place to stay for the budget-conscious snow lover. With rates as low as $43 a night and an authentic taste of Colorado's frontier heritage, the Breckenridge Mountain Lodge is one of the best values in town.

Where to Eat
Breckenridge Brewery & Pub
One of the best local breweries in the country, Breckenridge Brewery on South Main Street offers great pub fare and palate-pleasing pints. Apres Ski, the globally celebrated drinking tradition of hoisting a few as soon as the mountains close, is celebrated here in style: $6 pitchers of their homemade brew are available between 4 and 6 p.m. If you're in Breck for spring skiing, enjoy an Avalanche Ale on their sunny outdoor patio.

Motherloaded Tavern
Motherloaded Tavern is the perfect place for moms and dads to enjoy Apres Ski. The family-friendly and family-run tavern prides itself on homemade cooking served with Mom's care. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night Motherloaded features some great local bands.

Mi Casa Restaurant and Cantina
Enjoy Breckenridge's best Mexican food at Mi Casa. Located in the heart of Breck, Mi Casa serves quesadillas, burritos, fajitas and killer margaritas. Snow Country magazine named this Mexican haunt one of the Top 10 Ski Town restaurants. Happy hour here includes free munchies and discount drinks, making it a great place to start a night on the town.

Fatty's Pizzeria
Fatty's Pizzeria on Ridge Street is Breckenridge's oldest and best pizzeria. The dough is made fresh daily and the pizza is made to order before being cooked on stone shelves in specialty ovens.

What to See & Do
Breckenridge Mountain
While the town of Breckenridge has ample shopping, restaurants and bars, the real draw is the mountain. The summit has an elevation of almost 13,000 feet with 30 lifts, including 2 high-speed 6-passenger SuperChairs. There's a 25-acre terrain park and the longest trail, 4 O'Clock, is a beginner/intermediate that covers over 3 miles of Breckenridge Mountain. Lift tickets can be purchased at the mountain, however, we recommend buying them ahead of time online or at one of many retail shops to get some serious discounts.

Arapahoe Basin or Vail
From your home base at Breckenridge, take a day trip to Arapahoe Basin (more commonly known as A Basin) or Vail. Whether you have a rental car or are traveling on a shuttle, both of these world-class mountains are less than an hour from Breckenridge. A Basin is one of the Rocky Mountains' oldest ski areas, opening in the 1946-1947 season with a single tow. Vail's snow is legendary in skiing circles and the back bowls are widely considered to be epic. A day on either of these mountains is an incredibly awesome experience.

O2 Lounge
Combat the high altitudes by relaxing with a shot of wheat grass and some flavored oxygen at O2 Lounge. It will clear your head and rejuvenate you for another day on the slopes, or erase the effects of a hard night out on the town.

After Dark
320South
The "apres" Apres Ski in Breckenridge offers some seriously fun nightlife. Change out of your boots and Under Armor to enjoy live music, dancing and local flair. Three20South on Main Street is the best place to hear live music. Head down the stairs into this local favorite where a huge dance floor inspires the crowd.

Gold Pan Saloon
Gold Pan Saloon holds the oldest continuously operated liquor license west of the Mississippi River. Built in 1879, the saloon taps into Breck's mining history with authentic decor and photographs. A dive bar through and through, you can definitely sit on a stool from the second you get off the slopes till closing time at 2 a.m.

Travel Channel Insider's Tip:
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater
On your drive from the Denver airport to Breckenridge, you'll pass right by Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater. The Trading Post loop is a quick and scenic 1.4-mile trail that twists and turns through spectacular rock formations. Have lunch at the Ship Rock Grille overlooking the amphitheater, one of the coolest concert venues in the world.
