Father's Day Golf Courses
From Hawaii to Las Vegas to Costa Rica, plan a Father's Day outing at one of these recommended hotels and resorts with some of the best golf courses.
Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas
Golf Digest's No. 1 Hawaii course, Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas is the place to stay for golf lovers. Two well-regarded courses are adjacent: the Prince has breathtaking views along Princeville's cliffs, while Makai, a 27-hole monster, was renovated in 2009.
Casa De Campo
In 2008, Travel & Leisure Golf ranked Casa de Campo the top golf resort in the Caribbean. The resort's signature course, Teeth of the Dog, which was redesigned in 2006, is ranked No. 47 on Golf Magazine's top 100 courses in the world.
Wynn Las Vegas
Designed by Tom Fazio, the Wynn is one of just a few resorts with a golf course on the Strip, making it the perfect fit for a Father's Day round of golf. The 7,042-yard, par-70 course comes with waterfalls, water features and well-maintained greens.
The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay
Both par-72s and both with fabulous views of the ocean along craggy cliffs, the golf courses at Half Moon Bay offer quite the challenge for golfers, with blustery ocean winds and tight fairways.
Orlando World Center Marriott
An 18-hole, par 71, 6,600-yard course named Hawk's Landing surrounds this resort. The Bill Madonna Golf Academy at the Orlando World Center Marriott has covered bays, putting and chipping areas, bunkers, and manicured grass tees.
Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate
The Omni Championsgate has great greens -- just outside the door. Guests can choose from two 18-hole golf courses as well as enjoy the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. The nine-hole par-3 course is illuminated at night, unlike most other courses in Orlando.
Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica
The Four Seasons' par-72 championship course, designed by pro golfer Arnold Palmer, has panoramic ocean views from several of its holes, and the surrounding forests are rich with wildlife (including both howler and white-faced capuchin monkeys).
Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Half Moon's course is certainly a terrific Caribbean Golf Course, with 7,141 yards of difficult driving areas, plenty of bunkering and great undulating greens.
The Lodge at Torrey Pines
The 2 golf courses at the Lodge at Torrey Pines are stops on the PGA Tour and offer misty, romantic ocean vistas. The South Course -- remodeled about a decade ago by Rees Jones -- boasts particularly breath-taking views of the Pacific, and challenges players with thick patches of trees, bunkers, and sand traps.
One&Only Ocean Club
The Tom Weiskopf-designed Ocean Club Golf Course fills up the eastern chunk of Paradise Island. The course has hosted numerous tournaments in the past, such as the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational, and has one of the most happening club houses we've seen with a nice bar area.
