New Kid on the Block: Get to Know Casey Webb

The new host of Man V. Food is ready to take on the biggest and baddest food challenges in the country.

Hailing from the East Coast, food enthusiast Casey Webb is stepping up to the plate as the new host of Man V. Food. He continues the legacy of taking on the most insane food challenges from across the country, from the Belt Buster in Charleston to Milwaukee's infamous Commish sandwich.

But before the premiere, study up on the new host's resume, below. (Note: sometimes he just wants a salad.)

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I grew up in Little Silver, NJ, and now I live in Brooklyn. I started working in restaurants when I was 14 washing dishes at a pizza place, and then did everything from bartending, to general manager, and I even sold wine and spirits. When I was called to be the new “Man” I was bartending in Brooklyn.

What made you want to step up to the Man v Food plate?

This is a dream job! I get to combine my two passions — the restaurant business and performing. I love meeting new people and traveling, so I am having the time of my life criss-cross our beautiful country making new friends and taking on epic challenges!

Do you have any previous experience with food challenges? How long have you been training?

As a kid, my friends and I did a few local pizza eating challenges to win t-shirts, but nothing like this. Now, I’m battle-ready and up for any challenge that comes my way.

How do you pump yourself up for these challenges?

These challenges are much more mental than physical, so I get into the battle zone and try to keep my focus. Having a restaurant full of cheering fans helps motivate me when I start to slow down!

What’s the best piece of advice someone has offered you?

When you get full, stop eating!

If you had to pick one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

I’m going to say Mediterranean food, since you can travel from country to country and have some of the most versatile and tasty cuisine the world has to offer. If you are making me choose one dish, I’d have to say Pho or Ramen, I love both.

What challenge are you looking forward to the most?

The Creole Creamery in New Orleans is an ice cream challenge. It’s one of my favorite cities, and who doesn’t love ice cream?

What can fans expect from the upcoming season?

Fun! The best part of the show is the fun I had meeting people in restaurants and traveling to all of these great cities all over the country. Meeting folks who have such hometown pride and shining a light on their local hangouts is so cool, and having them cheer me on while I wage battle on these epic food challenges is awesome!
