There’s nowhere more perfectly suited for “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” than Sausalito. Or at least that’s what Otis Redding thought when he wrote the timeless song while staying in one of Sausalito’s famed houseboats. You can waste more than a little time here strolling the village’s picturesque main street, shopping for the locally-made Heath Ceramics or sipping an ice-cold brew against the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge. You might even find a bit of musical inspiration here, too.
